YOGA PLAY with Susan. Ages 3-5. Wednesdays 11-11:45 AM. 4 week session. Pre-registration required. $40. First sesssion: Jan. 18, Jan. 25, Feb. 1, Feb. 8 (Limit of 8. Minimum of 4)
YogaPlay will be offered by Susan C. Mirisola, RYT whose experience includes 16 years of kindergarten and pre-school classroom teaching as well as 16 years of leading story times and yoga programs for children of all ages in a public library setting. In YogaPlay the child will experience a playful exploration of simple yoga postures and body/breath awareness through songs, movement, action games and rhymes, followed by a brief Resting Pose. The class will end with a a short story that supports the yoga tenets of loving kindness, sharing, compassion, cooperation and non-judgement.
EXTRA GENTLE YOGA FOR EVERY BODY. This class is open to everyone regardless of body type, age or experience. Beginners are welcome, as well as those with more experience who would like a more gentle approach. In this extra gentle class, we will begin with a centering and breath awareness. We will move into gentle stretches to release stiff muscles. We will also work to increase body awareness, balance and strength. Props such as bolsters, blocks and chairs will be offered to help people feel comfortable. Each class will end with a deep relaxation. Elizabeth has worked with a wide variety of students, including students recovering from surgeries who need adaptations to continue their yoga practice while healing, older students new to yoga and students with weight issues.
TAI CHI CHIH: JOY THROUGH MOVEMENT., Thursdays from 9-10:30 AM. 10 week session begins 10/6; $150 pre-registration required. Taoists aspire to "effortless effort". Through awareness of alignment, both physical and energetic, this Qigong creates effortless movement which is healing, relaxing, and rejuvenating. Come, enjoy this health promoting art.
The class is taught by Larry Ira Landau who has been training in movement his entire life. Starting as a dancer in early childhood, he has devoted the last 30+ years to the cultivation of Taiji (T'ai Chi) and Qigong (Chi Kung). He has worked with people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, and all ability levels, from gifted athletes to those previously challenged by movement. He delights in sharing the gifts of his discoveries in movement explorations with all who study with him. He brings humor, warmth, compassion and understanding to his teaching.
- PERSONAL INSTRUCTION. Individual support and instruction allows you to learn at your own pace while developing a deep and meaningful practice that specifically addresses and honors your own needs. Personal instruction is ideal for those new to yoga and those wishing to deepen their existing practice. Sessions are 90 mins. and cost $65 for 1-2 people. We also offer private groups instruction for $85 (3-6 people) and $105 (7-10 people).

FREE GROUP MEDITATION is held every Friday at Noon. Open to all, no prior meditation experience necessary. We alternate weeks practicing Mindfulness of Breathing (Anapanasati) and Metta Bhavana (Cultivation of Loving-Kindness). These are led meditations lasting 30 mins. Together they help develop relaxed awareness, clarity and compassion.
KRIPALU BEGINNER SERIES with Michelle. An introductory 8-week class recommended for those with little or no yoga experience. The series teaches 24 postures with emphasis on details of alignment and coordination of breath and movement. It also teaches the fundamentals of Yoga including philosophy, yogic breathing techniques, meditation, and energy awareness. This series creates an excellent foundation to build a safe, strong and meaningful practice. A manual is included with the series. Pre-registration is required for the beginner series only and must have 6 participants to run. The cost for the series is $95. Includes Manual. Pre-registration required.
